Samsung Galaxy S2 Software Update Connection Failed Problem Solution

If you get the error "Connection failed" problem when you do

Settings > About Phone > Software Update - Update

, you may have some problems about CSC (Consumer Software Customization) settings. I had the same situation in my Galaxy S2. So I changed my CSC and it worked.

CSC - specific to geographical region and carriers. It contains the software packages specific to that region, carrier banding and APN, MMS settings for your service provider.

To change your CSC

- Type *#272*Device IMEI#

- Select CSC which you want
- Click Install
- Phone will reboot itself
- Done

WARNING - This process will reset your settings to factory setting so backup your phone before doing this.

And then try to update again from the same settings menu. After signing into google and samsung account you'll be able to update your Android version to Ice Cream Sandwich (Latest version of Android OS for Galaxy S2 in 2012).
